recap of events leading to New Year’s

the boyfriend made new year’s eve dinner
first time in 10 years he’s cooking again
first time ever he’s cooking new year’s eve dinner
first time ever he’s making pasta

he spent 2 hours toiling in the kitchen
making sure our dinner is palatable

he tasked me with taking pictures of the entire cooking process
i decided to also set the table
so i searched for all the tealight candles i had
cleared the entire dining table of our daily clutter
and set myself to arrange the tealight candles
well, i managed to only do 2 arrangements before dinner was ready
(and no, i didn’t take 2 hours to arrange them)

the pasta was delicious
‘nuf said.

after dinner, we went to church for new year’s eve mass
i’d rather spend my new year’s eve in church
instead of getting drunk in some place
that bellows with smoke and loud music
and having the possibility of not remembering what went on

mass was calming, peaceful
i guess as one gets older
one can appreciate such things

called up a close friend of mine after mass
we’ve been friends for almost 2 decades
went to her place and met up with another close friend
we chatted whilst attempting to watch a movie on dvd
left her place at 3am

got home
kissed and wished each other ‘happy new year’ again
fell asleep as our heads touched the pillow

twas a good feeling

i must say that i had a good end to 2007
and a good start to 2008
